POP UP BOXING

By 6th August 2021No Comments

Training Cave has bounced back from COVID in 2021 by delivering outdoor boxing and fitness sessions for young people aged 6-18 years.

Our portable boxing ring was used along with punch bags, exercise equipment and bags full of boxing gloves and pads.

In May we started our tour of local spaces at Wilton Park. We achieved 137 sign ins and we thought this was a great start to our pop up boxing project.

In June we moved to Soothill football courts where an incredible 265 young people attended over 4 days. For us as an organisation, this was record numbers.

We came back to Wilton Park in July. 79 young people took part in our outdoor sessions. These two weekends were probably the hottest we’ve ever known! So we appreciated every single person that turned up.

In total, Training Cave provided 12 days of free training to 481, 6-18 year olds. Being able to offer something free to its community is right at the core of Training Caves values. This project was all inclusive and it gave everyone a chance to have a go at boxing, regardless of their situation.

We have even seen a few faces turn up at our gym gym door because they enjoyed the outdoor sessions!
