I’m not sure about everybody else but I feel like Christmas has already begun. My excuse that eating crap is ok at this time of year started weeks ago!
Also the ‘Christmas drinking’ has lead me to being hammered for the last two weekends and realising that I can’t handle it anymore. Is ‘Christmas drinking’ any different to normal drinking or is that another excuse?
Its all ok though as I’m probably training the hardest I have trained in months… I like to think so anyway!
What a year 2016 has been for me and I am very grateful to my girlfriend, family, friends and all the people I train for making it a good one.
I have found myself working with the KBW amateur boxers from one day a week to three days a week and achieving my amateur coaches license. I have loved every minute working with these lads, we have had some ups and downs but they have all had smiles on their faces all year round. I’m learning my trade as a boxing coach and I appreciate the opportunity I have been given by the club.
Early in the year I started my MINI ATHLETES class and I have seen them go from strength to strength, I love coaching these young children and seeing them progress not just from a fitness point of view but also as people.
I like to mix things up, I work for myself and love the freedom to be able to move around gyms. I currently work out of three gyms, I started out my fitness career at Joe G’s fitness centre, I coach boxers out of KBW and earlier this year I started to work out of Brain and Brawn fitness.
Being at Brain and Brawn has not only been good for me as a place of work but also the friendships I have made, one being David Sa. ‘The monster’ is a professional Thai boxer and coaches Thai boxing to kids and adults.
Here is on the pads with me, you might now understand where he got his nickname from…[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaH8O6e4G3I]
He’s a big softie really…
At the end of a year you are always thankful, and you have no idea what the next year is going to bring and what new people you are going to meet.
I have found myself working with some amazing people and they aren’t just ‘clients’ to me, I HATE the word ‘client’. These people have become good friends of mine and some of them I speak to more than family. I suppose I see most of them as my family.
Thank you to all the brilliant people I work with on a one to one basis, you are all a pleasure to train.
I best start finishing off this blog or I could be here all day, I think my new years resolution is to take more pictures with the people I train as I have loved looking back on them all. I have also realised I have nowhere near enough.
So from me, Lucy, and Oscar (The star of Training Cave) we wish you a Merry Christmas and happy new year.
The missus is blasting out Mariah Carey ‘all I want for Christmas’ as I type…
‘Because in the end, you wont remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing the lawn. climb that goddamn mountain’
